RED BLACK HISTORY
Red Black League History - The Red Black High School League was founded in 2014 for Boys High School players. In 2017 we added Bantam and Peewee Fall Leagues and finally, in the Fall of 2021, the Girls High School League was formed with the same principles that have made Red Black Hockey an excellent developmental opportunity for all high school and youth hockey players. Today we typically field 30+ Boys HS teams in the Spring and 40+ in the Fall, 10-12 Bantam and 6-8 Peewee in the Fall, and 6-8 Girls HS teams in the spring and fall, with all divisions growing year-by-year. The high school league fields players from over 125 high school programs each season.
Every athlete wants to improve their skills in order to make an impact with their high school program. Players get left behind with limited spring/fall hockey opportunities reserved for a small percentage of players. Red Black Hockey provides a competitive environment for players looking to improve and make a difference. The demand to play is huge and our league caters to ALL high school hockey players. Our leadership and coaches have deep ties to Minnesota High School Hockey.
Our league was formed with a strong emphasis on acquiring the necessary game skills to be the best High School hockey player possible and at the same time allowing for the development of players with post high school aspirations.
